About me

My name is Ellie Marchese. I grew up in Monroe, Michigan, and was involved in both sports and music my entire life, but the one thing I loved most of all was art. I started taking my practice seriously in seventh grade thanks to my wonderful middle school art teacher, and since then, I took art classes in high school, attended the Penny Stamps School of Art and Design Pre-College program at the University of Michigan Ann-Arbor, and now attend the Penny Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan Ann-Arbor as a full time Art and Design student. I am primary a painter dabbling in oils but proficient in acrylics and gouache, but also enjoy dipping my toe into other mediums and practices. At Stamps, I am/have been taking as many different studio courses as I can, including photography, book arts, animation, and so many other cool classes.

When I'm not creating I like to spend lots of time with my grandparents and friends, and in the summers will often be found in my garden or off picking flowers. I also love to travel and intend to take my practice on the road. Having lived in Michigan my whole life, there are so many things I haven't seen in my home state, so Michigan is the first state I plan to thoroughly explore, and I have many collections planned.
